Lily found these chocolate ladybugs sneaking some of her apple juice :) Her 10th birthday was a bit sad as I was super sick with a horrible ear infection. But Carl and the kids went to Spring Lake for a picnic.

Our friend, Theo, showed us Berlin at night.
This is indication of where the Berlin Wall used to be.
And here is a section of the wall as a memorial.Of course we needed to visit the local playground everywhere we went.
The kids and I took the Strassenbahn (street train) to downtown Berlin. Here we are starting out our tour :)
While we waited to get into the Pergamon Museum, Lily ate her Brötchen and fed some visitors.
The Ishtar Gate inside the Pergamon Museum...a gate that Daniel may have gone trough in Babylon.
The kids and I were amazed at the ancient structures and mosaics!

Tante Siglinde and Onkel Manfred treat us to a morning and lunch in Hattingen.
The buildings are so beautiful and so old. We like the Bügeleisenhaus (iron house) built in 1611.
I think this is my favorite photo of the kids :)...but there are so many to choose from.
St. Georg with the crooked steeple (so that if there was a fire and the steeple fell, it wouldn't fall on the expensive church building).
Delicious pizza upstairs with this view outside.
Maggie checks out some art.
